Biosketch: Gabby is currently a sophomore pursuing her bachelor’s degree in marine biology with a minor in Ocean and Earth Sciences. Gabby joined the Cutter lab in the fall of 2020, and worked under Ekaterina to develop basic laboratory skills such as acid wash with HCl, pipette calibration, pH meter calibration, making reagents, making acid solutions, permeation tube weighing and calculations, etc. She has also become proficient with programs such as Ocean Data View (ODV) and BioRAFT ChemTracker. Currently, she is helping Ekaterina run an Astoria-Pacific Nutrient Analyzer using waveguides for the lab’s upcoming cruise in 2022.
