Outreach
The Science Outreach Program aims to serve the greater community and promote an interest in Oceanography. Our purpose is to help advance science education, raise the scientific consciousness of the community, and share the resources of the Old Dominion University science departments.
At the 2023 Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) Aquatic Sciences Meeting in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Dr. Cutter met with colleagues and was updated on the latest aquatic science findings. But, he also reached out to local children as part of ASLO’s Storytellers program where he read the story Mr. Seahorse to 1st and 2nd graders at the Colegio San Cayetano, showed videos from his latest GEOTRACES expedition to waters off Antarctica, and talked to the children about the ocean. He had a blast and the children seemed to enjoy it as well.
