Laura Buchholz is a Lecturer in English at Old Dominion University. She received her Ph.D. in English Studies from ODU in 2014. Her research focuses on Narrative Studies, particularly in the context of the relationship between narrative structure, media delivery, and cognition. Her dissertation, entitled Story-Spaces for the Mass Market in Victorian Print and Contemporary Television, examines how the form of serialization affects the narratological and rhetorical configuration of storyworld space through a variety of media. She has published essays in The Journal of Narrative Theory, Narrative, and Style.
In addition to her research, Laura teaches English courses in literature and composition at ODU. Her research and her teaching reflect an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches to rhetorical and literary studies which highlights the ways in which each discipline informs the other.
