First Trip to Baku — Day Five
This will be a shorter post today with a few observations. The light bulbs have been flashing on! There is such great energy and enthusiasm now that the various offices are beginning to understand how quality data and sound business processes will help them. There seems to be a genuine interest in learning and in doing the right thing! They are learning at an amazing speed and learning about the operations and business practices that separate their functions. Yippee!
These are delightful people. Curious, warm, friendly and they really dress well!
So…a very few observations…driving in one word…ALARMING! Young men…who are close friends greet another with a hug, air kiss, or another warm greeting and they seem to not respect the same personal space we would expect in America…young women too…there is a huge shopping district of very high end shops…Armani, Ferrari, Stella McCartney, etc. … oh, and there is a Trump building here…wonder if he actually paid for the labor to build it?
Photos below…first is the School of Business in the evening; second is the Supreme Court Building of Azerbaijan; third is a colorful fountain in the median of the road.
