This course will introduce students to the responsible conduct of science and scientific research, and the consequences of not being conscientious. As we will see there is the clear cut right and wrong, but there are many areas where the correct choices may not always be obvious. Information from this course will give you the information to make those difficult correct choices. The guidelines you get from this courses not only apply to the course, but should extend throughout your time as a graduate student, onto your professional career.
The course will examine the sometimes difficult choices as well as the opposing or competing values, codes, and outcomes encountered in the professional lives and include discussions of various professional activities that require ethical decision-making
