Why are bacterial pathogens so great at enduring attacks by the immune system and antibiotics? What bacterial signaling pathways enable this survival? How can we interfere with signaling pathways to reduce that survival? The Purcell lab studies regulatory proteins that affect stress survival to identify what they do, how they do it, and how we can interfere with them.
