Dr. Steel is a Master Lecturer. She has taught Evolution, Cell Biology, Fundamental Biomolecules, Practice of Science in Biology (PrOS Bio), Introductory Immunology, and Cell and Molecular Biology at Old Dominion University and currently serves as co-director of the MonarchTeach program, which prepares future middle- and high- school STEM educators. Dr. Steel holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Her research focused on how the immune system responds to viral infections of the brain and in commercially-funded dermatology research.
