Dr. Linda Bol is a Professor in Educational Foundations and Leadership, with a program emphasis in educational psychology and program evaluation, at Old Dominion University.  Dr. Bol obtained her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley and teaches graduate courses in theories of learning, metacognition, research methods, program evaluation, formative assessment, and dissertation seminar. She maintains an active research agenda in self-regulated learning in classroom settings. One area of specialization centers on students’ calibration accuracy and strategies employed to improve the accuracy of these metacognitive judgments.  Bol has conducted numerous evaluation studies of educational programs aimed at promoting achievement of at-risk youth. Recently, she served as a Co-Principal Investigator evaluating a 26 million dollar Investing in Innovation (i-3) grant focused on improving the mathematics achievement of middle school students.  She has conducted evaluation research on programs that include teaching american history grants, smaller learning communities, and charter schools.
