I am interested in the structural aspects of educational inequality and have worked on studies of student/teacher racial matching as well as the consequences of residential and school moving on educational performance.  I am currently working on a book about leadership and trauma. I also have active projects investigating practices in education that can translate to the school librarianship, interventions for community colleges, and the influence of family structure stability and transition. I have over two decades of educational research  and program evaluation experience having worked with the American Institutes for Research, RAND, Center for Research in Educational Policy, and the University of Michigan.
