STATE-LEVEL AND regional polling this election season reveals an intriguing transformation. Virginia is leaning more toward Democrat Hillary Clinton than many other swing states. Indeed, the Clinton campaign pulled major advertising buys because its standing had climbed so high. What is going on?

The Social Science Research Center at Old Dominion University is releasing regional Life in Hampton Roads survey data this week that casts light on attitudes in Hampton Roads. Trump’s numbers in the seven cities surveyed suggest that this campaign may well underperform Romney’s losing bid in 2012.
