In Summer 2018, I joined an ODU team as we participated in the 2018 Institute on High-Impact Practices and StudentSuccess. Our goal was to design a long-term plan for restructuring the Center for High Impact Practices so that it might truly achieve its mission, which is described as:
The Center for High Impact Practices (CHIP) supports academic success in the classroom and beyond through student-centered programs, resources, and high-impact educational activities.
- Collaborate with campus and educational partners to identify student learning needs
- Foster successful student learning experiences
- Support faculty as they implement High Impact Practices
- Provide expertise and services in a professional manner
